Upgrading HCM 9.0 to HCM 9.2 / PT 8.53 - Question on Images

I've downloaded HCM 9.2 Image # 002 and have extracted the required for upgrade patches.    I've also discovered the "apply patches not already applied" option and I see it creates a bunch of App Engine and DMS scripts in the process.

My question is, when doing the upgrade to HCM, should the upgrade of the Copy of NewRelease DEMO be at the base .000 image or is it okay to apply the patches not yet applied to the DEMO, bringing it up to the .002 version of 9.2.

I'm thinking the DEMO should be on 9.2.000, as the Change Assistant upgrade template has certain data conversion programs that run.    If I upgrade the DEMO to 9.2.002 and use that version to do the upgrade, how will the Copy of Produciotn get updated with the AE programs and other DMS scripts that are run in the application upgrade of the patches not yet applied?
