OIM 11G R2 SP1 (11.1.2.1.0) - Unable to remove links "New User Registration" / "Track My Registratio

Hi,
we are following the Developer's Guide, chapter: 30.4.9 Customizing the User Registration and Other Unauthenticated Pages
to remove the links as mentioned in the Summary ("New User Registration" and "Track My Registration").

We followed the manual and for the two links we set the attributes "Visible=false" and "Show component=false". Closed and published the sandbox, even restarted OIM, but the links are still there. Is anything wrong with this procedure? Is it possible to customize (remove in our case) those unauthenticated links?
