Configure Solaris 11.1 with LACP troubles

edited Oct 24, 2013 10:16AM in Oracle Solaris Networking (MOSC) 11 commentsAnswered

I have a T4-1B running solaris 11.1 with 4 active nics and I want to configure it to use 2 for normal network traffic and 2 for san traffic. Both pairs using LACP.

I have followed the link aggregation admin docs and configured 2 aggrs (with vlans). The aggr for the data ports is working great but the san aggr will not work.

The main difference between the two aggrs is that the data one is not distributed (same switch) where the san one is distributed. We use distributed trunking for many other hosts within the environment.

Here's the problem: I cannot reach anything from the san aggr (even pinging the gateway fails). The network guys say the LACP config on the switches is correct and that it looks like the host is creating a loop in the network that is being tuned off by spanning tree/etc.

Howdy, Stranger!
