How does the 'Last Contact' field get updated on the Collections Screen.Lifestyle tab in Advanced Co

Hi

How does the 'Last Contact' and the 'Contact Date' field get updated on the Collections Screen, Lifestyle tab in Advanced Collection Module? We have found names of people not related in any way to advanced collections and the dates are quite strange when nobody would be working on the transaction at all.  I'll upload a screen shot of an example.
