How Can we trace a workflow process

We have an expenses report workflow is behaving unexpectedly in one of the node on one node.

Hence would like to trace and see what condition is impacting the behaviour to deviate that expected.

Would you please suggest any way to trace a workflow process.(that is not a workflow core process rather the expense workflow process flow sequentially).
