On ticking auto notification box error message pops up saying 'Please update this task from the pare

Hi

When we inquire on a task set up within a transaction in Advanced Collections there is a tick box fro auto notification. WE cannot tick this box as we get a error message pops up saying 'Please update this task from the parent page' but when we set up a new task there isn't a tick box.  What does this error message mean.
