What is a reasonable expectation for the dlyprg batch process? RMS 13.2.2

 We are running the DLYPRG nightly with the batch for approx 5,000 items/day being deleted. The job is taking between 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours per night to run. I'm wondering if that is normal or if we are having performance problems. We'd like to increase the number of items being purged per night, but anything more then 5K causes the batch to run too long.
Any input on your experiences would be greatly appreciated.
