XMLP Power User and Report Developer Roles

Hello:

Does anyone know if these roles have code in them that allows specific access?  Are these the roles we have to use if the business wants to use and develop XML reports? I noticed that by adding some components and not using one of the roles the data source type was hard coded to PS Query.
