whitepaper on setting up a directory server

I would appreciate any pointers to installing and configuring an ldap server on Solaris 10 for use as an authentication service for various solaris clients. I have downloaded DSEE 7 but am also still considering openldap on either solaris 10 or using the ldap server built into solaris 11. Any pointers would be really appreciated like walk-throughs or howto guides that focus on creating a directory server that holds and manages authentication data. Thanks in advance.
