PeopleSoft -PeopleTools Test Framework won't let me use special characters while recording

HI all, Ive been dealing with this issue for a while and decided to see if I can get help on here.

the issue:

when I run Test framework, then go to create a new test

hit record

hit the home icon,

hook the browser

im brought to the main sign on page for oracle..

But when I go to enter my Username and password, Peoplesoft slows down the pc quiet a bit ( I have to type one letter every 5 seconds so it registers in the user text field

then when I am filling out the password the same issue happens but will not allow me to use my special characters.
