SQL to Determine How Much Space is Actually Used in a Given Tablespace

I have a question related to determining, via SQL, how much space is really used in a given tablespace.  I found the following SQL online, but this SQL only tells me the high-water mark in the tablespace. If we purge data from a specific tablespace and then rerun this SQL, "Used (GB)" does not go down (on Oracle 10.2.0.5).

We do not allow our tablespaces to auto-extend, so we want the ability to grow specific, problematic tablespaces prior to experiencing peak loads in our PeopleSoft applications.

Does anyone know of a way to accurately determine, via SQL, how much space is currently in use for a given tablespace?

Howdy, Stranger!
