peoplesoft xmlp email formatting

Hi, we're on hrms v 9.1, PT v 8.51.08.  we're testing our first xmlp report using email distribution.  When we test and send to the recipients, the overall email format looks great when sending to some email addresses, But for others (such as a verizon home email), the formatting is thrown off.  For example, there are extra spaces between lines (so spaces that are not evident in the RTF template).  Does anyone have any tricks that they use or are there any recommended formatting\fonts that I should be incorporating?  Thank You
