Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Hello,

Currently we are upgrading FSCM 9.2 in devl environment.As per checking few mos notes,PUM database best practice for patching.

I have read the notes PUM main page and read doc but few questions before I try to install.

1) Vm it ask for db name,is that something I can create 11.2 db on our db server - can I give the name of that db when it prompt db name ?

2) If db is also part of VM then can I take db export and connect to it via VM ?

3) If not possible to take db out from VM then what will be backup strategy of db - rman ? power off the vm and copy the files ?
