Can't access samba shares on oracle virtualbox PeopleSoft HCM virtual machine for PUM

I don't understand what could be happening.  In theory, after you load the PeopleSoft image into Virtualbox and start up the server after giving it all the correct settings, I should be able to access the samba shares.  I can't.  I can access PIA just fine but if I type in the \\192.168.56.101 unc I get nothing.  No shares.  Others have done this and they have no issues.  Am I missing something?  Is there something in our default windows 7 image that could be preventing the samba shares from being accessible?  Is there a setting in Virtualbox that needs to be set.  Help!  I have replicated this on two different hosts.
