We are in need of a procedure or process to ftp files using a sftp connection.

We currently FTP data from/to our AS/400 via FTP commands written in SQR programs. These SQR programs use the data to update tables in PeopleSoft student as well as PeopleSoft Finance. The SQR's also collect data and FTP's it to the AS/400.  The AS/400 currently is in house. We will be moving onto a hosted AS/400 hence the need for the secure FTP transfers.We are looking for any/all ideas to solve this issue. Somehow the data needs to be moved to/from the hosted environment.
Any/all ideas would be welcome.
