Question about Grids and Component Interfaces

I am tasked with creating a program that will update classes in Campus Solutions from a Web Service using Integration Broker.

I initially thought I would call the appropriate CI after initial validation of the data and I have tested a CI for Schedule New Course and for Maintain Schedule of Classes and they seem to work ok, but in reading documents 1509602.1 and 652117.1 I see that there can be unpredictable behavior with the grids. I am curious as to what this unpredictable behavior is. I am hesitant to create custom validation for class data and I am hoping that there is something more specific I can llok for that will allow me to work around any issues caused by the
