Tools 8.53 , FSCM 9.2 and PUM

Hi there, We are planning to upgrade our Peopleosft Financials from 9.1 and Tools 8.52 to FSCM 9.2 and Tools 8.53. I wanted some clarification. What I could understand was that PUM will be only used to apply bundles, maintenance packs going forward but for our 9.2 upgrade we will follow same routine of downloading the template and executing it through CA. Please let me know if it is correct assumption and also we in old upgrades we used to create new demo database and install the new software to create demo, would this be replaced by demo image? Also
