Unable to Save a GTC

Despite not having made any recent changes to the system, we are no longer able to save changes to a GTC or to create a new one. The error begins with 'CreateGenConnectorAction/createGenericConnectorSuccess encounter some problems: Bean has been deleted. javax.ejb.NoSuchEJBException: Bean has been deleted.
at weblogic.ejb.container.swap.DiskSwap.read ...
at weblogic.ejb.container.manager.StatefulSessionManager.getBean....

etc...
