Integration Broker Node set up - password change required on NODE setup page any time the password c

We have recently set up the Integration Broker in production.  When we try to access the WSDL URL we are seeing incorrect id/password messages.  In the node set the default, ID and password are filled in.  My question is this:  If the password in security for this particular ID and nobody came back to the  NODE setup page and also changed the password there, could this be causing the issue?  Any time the password changes for the ID being used on this node, is it then necessary to go back to the NODE setup page and update the password there?
