Daemon Problems

We have setup a Daemon to run every two minutes in production. The daemon works successfully in all our non prod systems. In production the daemon generates a message 'Unable to successfully retrieve information for Process Name XXXX'. But Daemons do not need process definitions. We have deleted the process scheduler cache and bounced the process scheduler server (quite a bit) and it did not fix the issue.To test a solution to the error above, I added a process definition, tied it to a role that the Process Scheduler Administrator role holds... and cleared cache, bounced the process scheduler. Only to have the job start on the batch server - but error with the message "Programs of type "daemon" cannot be run as a standard batch process" while the daemon will error indicating that it can't access the AE, or sections of the AE.
