Table edits causing search bars to move back to the front of the field

Good afternoon, 
I've ran into an issue that as we search in fields, it will do a table edit showing the search results, which is perfect! We like that. 

The only thing that is the issue is that it's bringing the spot where you type to the front of the field. 

We're on PeopleSoft 9.2, People Tools 8.53. 

While I realize we can turn off table edits for that page/component, but I really dont want to do that. I just want the space bar to stop moving to the front...Any ideas?
