What's the level of effort to migrate / upgrade from R1 to R2?

We're trying to determine if the architectural benefits of R2 outweigh the added cost of the configuration (especially the OIM connectors / adapters available as of R2).  So for our next phase(s), trying to determine if we should go with R2 off the bat, or R1 (as we currently have in Prod), then upgrade to R2 down the road, and the level of effort that would take.
