OracleMTSRecoveryService will not start after registry cleanup

the server is windows 2003 r2.

We had an oracle 10g home, 11.1 home, and 11.2 home on this server.

I uninstalled the 11.1 home but 11.2 was in such bad shape that i had to delete it via the registry.

10g home is working fine.

I got rid of 11.1 and 11.2 homes, then reinstalled the 11.1.0.6 software, but I notice now that the OracleMTSRecoveryService is not started and I can't get it to start.

Any ideas how I can resolve getting this service working again?  it was working before I edited the registry.
