Override Search Record of the Component in the Menu level is not working

We are using PT8.53.08 and I registered the delivered component to a different menu and tried to override the search record on the menu level. However it is not working, even the search fields are not referring to the new search record.

I have read some old blogs and a related Oracle documentation here regarding that this a known issue for version PT8.1x/PT8.4x (Doc ID 615316.1). But (Doc ID 1053144.1) says that this is already working in Version: 8.8 to 9 - Release: 8.8 to 9
