PeopleSoft resubmitting event notification

We are using event frame work in PeopleSoft 8.51 to trigger an outbound synchronous message. If for some reason, the sync message is NOT successful, we would like to re-submit the event that triggered the message. Is there a way to re-submit an event from the event monitoring page? I do see re-submitting the subscription of EOEN_MSG will trigger the registered events but we have to update the subscription status to "Cancel" in order to do this. Is there any issue with this method if we don't have an option to re-submit the events?
