Applying additional patches to Upgrade Source Image

While using HCM upgrade source image, we have to apply "Required for Upgrade" fixes and then "Tax Updates" too. I understand that completely.

My question is that what do we do with other patches which are delivered with PUM PeopleSoft Images (e.g. 9.2.005)?

As upgrade source image for most of the applications was released in May 2013 (except for FSCM for which new upgrade source image was released few days ago), and there have been so many patches/fixes delivered with PUM Images. Should we extract those patches from PUM and apply to Upgrade source image before starting initial pass or do we need to apply those to our target environment after finishing the initial pass.
