Why does the RCU create multiple temporary tablespaces?

We are implementing Oracle Identity Manager 11gR2 along with the other required modules (MDS, IAU, SOAINFRA).

When we run the RCU to create the schemas, it creates several temporary tablespaces and associates them with the various schemas that are created.

Is there that much contention for temporary space that makes this required?

Is it unwise to configure the system with a single tablespace?
