What is DFLTSRCHTYPE on table PSPNLGRPDEFN (Component) used for

We are in the middle of an upgrade and we've noticed that the value of the DFLTSRCHTYPE field on the PRCSDEFN record (PRCSDEFN component) is set to 1; however, in FSDMO, HRDMO, and all of our other HR and SA databases the value for this field is set to zero "0".  It seems to only be set to "1" in our production, development, staging, and upgrade FS environments.  I cannot find any information on Oracle's site as to what this field is used for and what affects are caused by it being set to a value of 0 or 1.
