PT 8.53, applying HR bundles, is release adaptor needed?

Hello,

  We're on Peopletools 8.53.11, and I'm trying to apply a bunch of HR bundles. I applied the latest release adaptor (902126) and when running the job, it's been on the Release Adaptor step for a long time. The xml files are on a share, which is probably causing the process to run slowly. But, my question is, do I even have to run the adaptor for the bundles since we're on the latest version of Peopletools? Can I just mark it complete?
