NA Payroll COBOL - has anyone modified the COMMIT AFTER EMPL PROCESSED setting?

in PeopleTools and Lifecycle Management - PSFT (MOSC)

We are running our COBOL on Oracle 11g Linux. Tools 8.53, HCM 9.2

Our installation table setting for COMMIT AFTER EMPL PROCESSED is equal to 300.  I believe that is the default setting.

Has anyone ever modified that setting in order to improve performance?

I would also appreciate any pointers to documents or information that discuss the pros/cons of modifying this setting.  I realize this is more the realm of the DBA (I'm just a developer) - but any help is appreciated.
