RMAN Restore an 11gR2 db

Folks, I've to restore a db, on a different box/server, having same Oracle release & OS too, they provided my couple of different backups, in different folders, now my task is to restore/recover any one of them, and I'm struggling, because all of the techniques, that I'm trying are giving errors.

All the backups are from PROD database, same Oracle release + OS too, and I don't know the SCN & until time too, the first task is to validate are all backups or which one is good to restore/recover.


Please provide some steps/guideline or even any doc link will be much appreciated, in this regards.
