Can I restore a datafile to primary from backupset of standby?

I have taken a level 0 backup as backupset of the standby database.

I am simulating loss of one datafile on primary and want to use the backup of database as backupset taken on standby to restore to the primary.

I have done it with backup as copy but am not able to figure out if and how can it be done with a backup as backupset.

Any experiences please?
