Unable to enter notes from IEXRCALL form

Our Collection Officers are trying to enter notes in the system in the Notes tab, but the ability to do so - It is not available unless the Collections Officer exits the account, researches the customer number/name/info, and then goes back to the Notes tab.

This is not happening to all ; Inconsistent - for some users only

Any suggestions would help
