Navigate to workcenter through dashboard tab?

Hello,

Is it possible to link a workcenter to a dashboard tab? ( the tabs below the oracle logo ).

I found the workcenter I created in  Structure and Content > Root > Portal Objects > Homepage > Tabs. If you uncheck the tab as an operational dashbaord, it will appear as a tab when you sign in.

The problem is that when you click on the workcenter tab, it does not show the slide out navigation bar.

Is there a trick to get this working?
