PeopleSoft Directory Integration - Licencing?

Can somebody point me to documetnation that indicates if PeopleSoft Directory Integration (PDI or Directory Services) is a seperate licenced product.   We have HCM and PeopleTools (obviously) but is there something additional that is requried to be purchased?   Documentation I have seen is vague and not sure if still valid.

End goal is to sync HR data to an MS AD schema and currently investigating options.
