Enabling and Disabling Rows in a Grid after and Insert Row

Hello,

We have a business requirement for a custom page.  The data on the page will be loaded via an Application Engine.  Certain fields on the grid from this loaded data can't not be modified by the business owners.  But they want the capability to insert rows into the grid and be able to the fill in information in the fields that are disabled from the load.  We are looking for a way to leave these fields in Disabled mode for all loaded rows but enabled for inserted grid rows.  Any assistance or suggestions would be appreciated.
