Using HCM 9.2 update image

I have a new environment running on PT8.54 & HCM 9.2. This is a newly set up environment & I am planning to apply the latest patches to HCM.

It will be my first time running patching using the image. I've go through the end to end training module from PUM Homepage. There's some question which I would like to clarify.

1. I am running on PT8.54 while the image is on PT8.53, will there be any issue?

2. Should I install the tools client provided by the image?

3. The change assistant, should I install it from PT8.54 or provided by the image?

4. I have a Oracle DB 12c DB client, should I use this client or I have to use the Oracle client provided by the image?
