Integration of OID 11g with OSSO 10g

Hello everyone.

I have OSSO & OID 10.1.4 installed, and I'm planning to upgrade OID to 11g, without upgrading of OSSO. As I understand, this is a certified configuration.

I've reviewed the Upgrading Your Oracle Internet Directory Environment page, and it describes "in-place" upgrade, i.e. OID 11g schema will replace existing OID 10g schema in the repository database.

I'm curious, is it possible to install a fresh database for OID 11g metadata repository, then install and configure OID 11g, and then just integrate existing OSSO with this OID 11g?

Has anyone done it, and can share experience? Or should stick with the official upgrade method?
