XML Payment Files for Bank - Custom Layout

We need to implement a paycycle system which will create a custom xml payment file (layout suggested by our bank) and send via IB. We are not using Financial Gateway.

What would be the best approach for leveraging existing PS processes to ensure minimal customisation? Any document/guideline/suggestion will be appreciated.
