How can i compare a demo database on 8.54.02 tools with an 8.52.09 system database?

There is a possibility that we have customized some sign-code and I am unsure what to do to compare the two to keep from overwriting that code. I thought about upgrading a copy of production... but that would overwrite the code I need to keep.   Any thoughts?
