way to identify errors in spreadsheet upload sooner?

We have to wait for the whole AP voucher spreadsheet upload process to finish before we find out there are data errors. Is there any way to find out that there are errors earlier in the process (i.e., before trying to upload the spreadsheet)? Is there any way to pre-check the data?
