Can Oracle SES installation be seperated?

Hi all, I want to know is it possible to have Oracle SES installed on different box for the DB & the App itself?

Based on the installation it's recommended to have both db and SES application sitting on the same server. Can we do it seperately? If yes how can this be achieve?
