is there a way to always use uppercase USERID even if entered in lowercase?

I would like to be able to allow the users to enter their userid into PeopleSoft HCM 9.1  in lower, upper or mixed case and then always have it changed to uppercase.

The problem currently is that we have users stating that they cannot log in.  It is because they are typing the userid in lower or mixed case.  Since it doesn't match the save userid, which is all UPPERCASE the user gets an invalid login.  Is there a simple way to fix this so regardless of what case they enter, it is switched to uppercase?
