BOE Number Manual Entry..

in Financials for India - EBS (MOSC) Question

We observed that Oracle does not allow to enter the BOE (Bill of Entry) Number manually. It is always system generated unique sequence. Our client explained that BOE document is generated in custom system called EDI with an unique number, This practice is common to all companies who are doing import in INDIA. For custom/Excise department there is no relevant of company's own system generated BOE# because they can not keep the track for each company's generated BOE thats why they have unique system for all companies who are doing import.

We do not understand how the other companies in INDIA who are using Oracle managing RG23D register because it is mandatory requirement to capture the actual BOE in case of import and actual excise invoice  number in case of local purchase at the time of inputs in RG23D register.
