OS upgradation

in Financials for India - EBS (MOSC) Question

Hi All,

We are going for an  OS upgardation from Sun solaris 8 (64-bit) to Windows 2008 R2 and also upgarding the application from R12.1.1 from 12.2.3. I want to know, How much compatable windows 2008 is for R12.2.3?

Is it fine to go for windows on Unix?

What are the challenges,risks involved in OS upgradation? What are the measures to be taken care during OS upgradation?

Please help with your answers.
