For the first Test Move from 9.0 to 9.2, what is the source for Message Catalog (> 20,000 sets)? i

I am trying to figure out what needs to be done with custom messages in the message catalog.  Are they coming from the copy of production or the 9.2 environment?  We are starting our first test move soon.
