How long did it take you to set up Performance Monitor

I'd like to implement Performance Monitor at my workplace to help resolve some intermittent performance issues and am being asked to estimate how much of my time this might take.  It looks like it could perhaps be a two-week long project but that's just the roughest of guesses.  I'm familiar with creating databases, using the admin tool to create application server domains, etc.  However I want to leave plenty of time for mistakes, getting stuck, tweaking, learning about the various performance monitoring tools etc.  I've reviewed the "PeopleSoft Performance Monitor" Red Paper.

Can anyone tell me their experience with setting up Performance Monitor?
