Regarding Fluid interface in the PT 8.54 Upgrade

Hi

I am working for Target Corporation, currently we are using the PeopleSoft 9.1 Version and the Tools version is 8.50, we would like to upgrade to People Tools version to 8.54 with out upgrading to application version 9.2, my question here is will the Fluid user interface and the global search functionality given as part of the People Tools version 8.54 will work in the current application 9.1 ?

or do we need to upgrade the version also to get the Fluid user interface for the users ?
