Backward compatibility of PeopleTools 8.54

Hi,

I need to know the backward compatibility of PeopleTools 8.54 with the PeopleSoft Application release version.

I know that PeopleTools 8.5X is backward compatible.

But does that mean 8.54 will be compatible with Application version 8.9.

Please let me know if anybody has information on this.
