Unable to connect Oracle 64 bit client with FSCM 9.2 image# 9 or #10

After successfully creating the VM from image 10 appliance (downloaded from MOS), we installed Oracle 12.1.0 from the code provided in the image itself.  We are receiving ORA-12514 error when trying to connect to the database using SqlPlus inside the image.  The TNS entry for this database was copied from the image file share to the host machine.  The same problem was occurring with image #9 also but we had to abandon it as #10 became available and decided to use it instead.  We are using static IP for the VM.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.
